Kolakham offers a majestic view of mighty Kanchenjunga, the world third highest peak along with its adjoining peaks, ie. Kabru, Kabru Dome, Pandim, Siniolchu etc. stand high on the north western sky. Lava with its monastery along with Rishyap are distinctly visible and Nathula is a distant view from the village. It has an average altitude of 1981 meters (6500 ft)

As it is located at Neora Valley Forest, this place can be your ideal base for birding in the region. There is a great variety of birds available here which includes a variety of pheasants such as the beautiful Satyr Tragopan, Robin, Babbler, Laughingthrush, Scarlet, Finch, Partridge, and others.  

Kolakham Himalayan Homestay is located at Kolakham village in Kalimpong, which is truly an amazing with the view of Kanchanjungha from the location as well as from all rooms. You can witness the sunrise on top of Kanchanjungha from the bed only. Also, listening to the birds chirping all day long and looking at the picturesque village from the homestay will make your stay with us truly memorable.

We have got 6 cottages in total at different steps, and all are Kanchanjungha facing  cottages with attached toilet fitted with geyser. Each cottage have 1 queen sized bed with optional Extra bed.
